Josephine-May Bailey (she/her) is a Curator, Arts Writer and Art Historian specialising in Contemporary Art and Feminist Theory.

Josephine has worked both independently and within galleries and institutions. She has curated over 20 exhibitions across the UK, and supported more than 150 international artists in the process. She has established and programmed three contemporary art galleries across London and worked on project-specific exhibitions at institutions such as the Barbican (Rebel Rebel, Soheila Sokhanvari). Josephine has previously held positions at Christie’s, Timothy Taylor Gallery and Gagosian Gallery.
Josephine holds an MFA in Curating (Distinction) from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She also holds a BA in Art History from Christ Church, Oxford University. Josephine provides platforms and support for both commercial and non-commercial practices. She has previously hosted residencies, tours, discussion panels and open studios for a variety of galleries, international artists, and collectors.
Josephine writes regularly, penning catalogue essays, exhibitions texts, press releases, exhibition reviews and artist biographies.
