Josephine-May Bailey (she/her) is a Curator, Arts Writer and Art Historian specialising in Contemporary Art and Feminist Theory.

Josephine is the Director of Sales at gallery rosenfeld. She was previously Director and Curator of Pictorum Gallery..

Josephine has worked both independently and within galleries and institutions. She has curated over 25 exhibitions across the UK, and supported more than 150 international artists in the process. She has worked on project-specific exhibitions at institutions such as the Barbican (Rebel Rebel, Soheila Sokhanvari). Josephine has previously held positions at Christie’s, Timothy Taylor Gallery and Gagosian Galler,y, among other galleries.

Josephine holds an MFA in Curating from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She also holds a BA in Art History from Christ Church, Oxford University. Josephine provides platforms and support for both commercial and non-commercial practices. She has hosted residencies, tours, discussion panels and open studios for a variety of galleries, international artists, and collectors.

Josephine writes regularly, penning catalogue essays, exhibitions texts, press releases, exhibition reviews and artist biographies.
